Monsgeek M1W Accent Mod
About
The stock M1W has anodized gold side accents. I wanted a quieter look, so I made replacement accent plates and wrapped them in black Alran Sully goatskin.
This is a simple cosmetic mod, just different visual weight and texture.
Build Notes
I modeled a side plate to match the stock accent geometry, then printed the pieces on with the Bambu Labs X1 Carbon. Then
- Lightly sand and clean the print
- Cut goatskin with a small edge allowance
- Bond leather to the face, working from center out to avoid trapped air
- Wrap and trim edges
- Refit and check alignment in the case
The only part that matters is edge control around visible seams. The 3D printed insert is slightly undersized to accomodiate the leather.

If you print it, assume you may need minor tolerance adjustment depending on printer calibration.
