Monsgeek M1W Accent Mod
About
The M1W comes with anodized gold accents on each side. I wanted something less flashy, so I made replacement plates and wrapped them in black Alran Sully goatskin.
Build Notes
I modeled a plate to match the shape of the stock accent, then printed a pair on a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon.
- Lightly sand and clean each print.
- Cut the goatskin with a small allowance around the edge.
- Glue the leather to the face, working from the center outward to avoid trapping air.
- Wrap and trim the edges.
- Refit the plates and check their alignment with the case.
I made the printed plates slightly undersized to account for the thickness of the leather.

It may need a small tolerance adjustment depending on the printer’s calibration.
